«Norges Midtpunkt SA» is a collaboration of 7 businesses offering nature- and culture based products and experiences. We tailor activities, tours, experiences, meetings and events for individuals, groups and businesses.

MOKK FARM

– Back to nature!

Mokk farm is located in beautiful surroundings 40 km east of Steinkjer, in wild terrain just at the foot of the mountain. At Mokk you can feel the nature and the serenity in the “wilderness”. You are met by a friendly and welcoming host, who strives to make your stay the best it can be. Whether you are here as part of a group through business or private, a festive event or a family outing, you are in safe hands.  The possibilities are numerous at Mokk farm, whether you are hiring the premises with self-catering or full board. We welcome small and large groups by prior agreement for accommodation and dining.

Accommodation

Mokk offer accommodation for small and large groups, with 40 beds in 17 rooms, either in the cosy annex or the main farmhouse from 1896.

Dining, meetings & events

We have adapted part of the farm as a large and modern meeting room where your group can have your activity in private surroundings. The room can also be used for festive occasions. In addition, we offer meetings and gatherings in the main house.

STEINKJER KOMMUNESKOGER – OGNDALSBRUKET KF

– Book your cabin, fishing – and hunting experience with us.

Steinkjer kommuneskoger – Ogndalsbruket KF offers free fishing with rod and otter in over 50 lakes in Steinkjer – and has several cabins that can be booked on www.inatur.no.
Steinkjer kommuneskoger are also an active part when it comes to organising trips in and around Norway’s geographic midpoint and Blåfjella-Skjækerfjella National Park.

Canoeing in the river Ogna is a fun activity for family and friends. Ogna is a tranquil river that offers great scenery Bring a snack and camp on the river bank at one of the picnic spots. Book the canoes with Visit Innherred.

Combining a trip to the Norwegian geographic center with accommodation in one of the rental cabins (some also with access to boat and free yarn right) allows for multi-day wilderness adventures in the Trøndersk nature.

For the passionate hunter, the Kommunseskogen’s areas are no less than a paradise. Big game hunting for elk is extremely popular and our hunting area is rented out by four-year periods by drawing lots. Hunting licenses for Roe deer and small game hunting (Willow grouse, Willow ptarmigan, Rock ptgarmigan, grouse and hare) are also available for the Steinkjer Kommuneskoger’s areas. THE CULTURAL FARM BJERKEM

Kulturgården Bjerkem in Henning in Steinkjer

The Cultural Farm Bjerkem has been in operation for about 2000 years, interrupted only by the Black Death, when the farm was abandoned for a time. We receive groups for dining, meetings and events. North-Trøndelag Folk Costume museum – Bunadburet is also located on the premises.

Dining, meetings & events

Kulturgården Bjerkem offer its premises for any occasion; like christenings, weddings, memorials, confirmations etc.

You can rent Bjerkem with or without food service and with or without host. We can cater for up to 80 people in «Gammellavin» dating from 1891 and 20 people in the neighbouring room. A small group of up to 16 people can fit around the table in «Masstu» which creates a cosy and harmonious atmosphere.

We serve local and organic foods, with meat, flour and milk from our own farm. We have developed our own special beers that are served only on the farm. We also offer entertainment, i.e singing, dancing, storytelling or we hire musicians.

The Gourmet Restaurant «Experience»

On the 15th September 2017, the gourmet restaurant «Experience» opens its doors for the first time at Bjerkem. This will be a restaurant where people buy into a whole experience from A-Z, not a A La Carte restaurant. The restaurant will be open on Fridays and Saturdays. The guests will predominantly be seated around the long table in the unique «Masstua» from 1891, which can cater to 16 people. However, a further 20 people can be accommodated up in the atmospheric barn loft.  With the diverse availability of food in Trøndelag; of meat, fish, vegetables, mushrooms, berries, milk, cheese etc – we can promise many delicious short travelled (local) and no-travelled culinary experiences here at Bjerkem. Our chef is the Michelin chef Kim Tore Sjøbakk, who has 12 years of work experience in London, amongst several Michelin star restaurants.

Baking courses

Cecilie at Rølia Farm baking bread with ancient grainBoth Bjerkem and Rølia farms grow organic ancient grains on their farms, and as modern organic farmers they have seen the potential of the old varieties because they are particularity suitable for organic farming. Ancient grains are wheat, rye, barley and oats that have not been subjected to modern processing. These grains are less nutrient demanding and more resistant to disease.
Torunn Hernes Bjerkem og Cecilie Røli have immersed themselves in the baking qualities of the different varieties and their health gains. Through the company Gullimunn AS they offer baking courses, providing theoretical and practical knowledge in the art of baking with ancient grains.

 

RØLIA FARM

Baking with ancient grains at Rølia farm

Rølia is located in beautiful surroundings in Henning, 8 km east of Steinkjer.
Rølia occasionally feature a cosy farm café “Kåreinnin Kafe” at the end of the old Trønderlåna from the 1700’s. All the baked goods served on the premises are made from ancient grains. Other times «Kåreinnin» is used for meetings and events. Down to earth, generous and enthusiastic hosts extends a warm welcome.

Dining, meetings and events

Rølia is a perfect place to arrange day meetings and other events. The parlour in Trønderlåna can also be used as a meeting room and dining room, accommodating up to 25-30 people.
We grow ancient and organic grains on the farm and the food we prepare are made with local ingredients and where at all possible, organic. All the baked goods served are made from the ancient grains grown on the farm.

HATLINGSETRA SUMMER MOUNTAIN FARM

Hatlingsetra - the only operational Summer Mountain Farm in Steinkjer

– Mountain farm adventures by the idyllic Lake Hatlingvatnet

Head to the mountain pastures and visit Hatlingsetra, Steinkjer’s only operational mountain farm. We are operational from July to mid August every year and the mountain farm is open to visitors on Sundays during the season, when we serve good food made from local and own produce (eg sour cream porridge and «black kettle» coffee).

As a visiting summer mountain farm, we can offer good atmosphere with pail milking of cows, separation of milk the old way and close contact with cats, cows, rabbits, horses, lambs and chickens. We have a children’s corner on the meadow with a sandpit, swing, mini farm house and own specially made wooden dairy cow. The summer mountain farm enjoys an idyllic location overlooking Hatlingsetra lake. We also offer the premises for private functions and banquets.

YTTERVIK FARM

Yttervik farm in Beistad in tTeinkjer

– Enjoy the view, unique premises and the friendly hosts at Yttervik Farm, Beitstad.

All seasons have their charm and at Yttervik we live with the wind and weather inside the banqueting premises. In the kitchen, the food is inspired by the seasons and made from scratch. With predominately local produce, and where at all possible organic, we serve delicious dishes flavoured by our powerful herbs grown on site. In the repurposed greenhouse or the cow barn with its charming timber walls from 1936, ambiance is created to suit all occasions.

The Greenhouse

The beauty of these premises is that they wary in line with the seasons; see the wind rustle outside, hear the rain drumming against the roof, feel the sun warming your body and take in the silence when twilight sets in and candle lights are lit. A sense of a garden party in the summer, full of evocative ambience when the dark seeps in and Christmas mood with snowy surroundings when the winter arrives at Yttervik. No matter the occasion, we will create the right atmosphere. The greenhouse can accommodate larger groups of up to 150 people, but are also suitable for smaller parties.

The Cow Barn

The Cow Barn from 1936 with its charming timber walls and stylish furnishings has become an innovative and exciting meetings and events location that can accommodate up to 40 people.

NORDHEIM CONFERENCE AND EVENTS VENUE

Festivities at Nordheim Conference and Event Venue

Nordheim is situated in sheltered and beautiful surroundings in Upper Ogndal, at the gateway to Blåfjella – Skjækerfjella National Park, which is one of Norway’s finest wilderness areas. Lovely countryside for walking and Norway’s geographic midpoint is a 2,5 hour hike from Nordheim. Steinkjer city centre is 37 km away.

Accommodation

We have 63 beds in 16 rooms. The rooms are of a basic standard, with shared modern sanitary facilities. One of the showers and toilets are adaptd for wheelchair users. Nordheim can be hired all-inclusive or self-catered. We have two large kitchens at your disposal.

Private functions, meetings and events

Have your meeting or event with us, free from interference and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Our conference and meeting room can accommodate up to 40 people.

Our premises can accommodate up to 80 people for dinner. The outdoor area has a greater capacity. There is seating for about 70 in the gas heated tent with its own small bar with a refrigerator / freezer. The veranda and bleachers can further seat approximately 50 people. The outdoor areas are illuminated, with a dance floor and a stage.
